Summer in the City
Memorial Day marks the official start of the sumer season, and for us, the start of our summer "road trips." Although I am a little sad to leave our brand new South Beach offices, I am happy to spend more time in Manhattan, my second home. We have some very high level business deals we are developing this quarter, and New York is certainly the center of the business world. As we approach the expansion of our club network, expansion of our online magazine, and the launch of our new media site, elements is even better positioned to be the leading fitness and lifestyle brand for women. It is our goal to further develop our presence in the Northeast markets, develop some key media relationships, and further enhance the operating backbone of our club system. With over 25 clubs under development this year, we are in a exciting chapter, and investmensts into our infrastructure are always smart.
Manhattan is unlike any other place on earth, it is often dificult to describe the sheer energy and pace of the place. As you slowly wake at 7:30am, the city is already in a frenzy… office towers filling, traffic snarls, couriers racing to make their deliveries. it is a very exciting and motivating work environment for me (and I am hoping that my assistant feels the same!) Today’s lineup of meetings begins with a conference call to welcome our newest elements owners, and is followed by a hectic lineup of interviews, meetings, and then a strategy session with our advertising team, where we will discuss (believe it or not) this Season’s Holiday campaigns for the clubs. Print and media work must be planned and executed 6 months in advance to be effective, so we like to stay one step ahead to ensure that our clubs will be prepared for their busiest season. Marketing is something that elements? does extremely well, and to me that only adds to the pressure of developing the next great campaign for our clubs… I am feeling confident today, and December will be here before we know it.
