“We’re Doing Important Work Here”
Today marks the day that my personal assistant hired a personal assistant, the irony of which is not lost on me. What began with a concept, and a team of three is now growing in every direction imaginable. At the end of her first day, I asked Nicole (the new assistant) what she thought… her quote "we’re doing important work here." I smiled, knowing that she will fit right in.
In under three years, we have launched what is becoming the most talked about brand in the fitness industry, elements(tm). The reality of our achievement becomes more apparent each day. International development inquiries, congratulatory emails from top execs, referrals from some of the best publicists… all very good things. We are just settling into our new offices in South Beach, the third expansion in three years. I am hoping this prome location, in the heart of of the Lincoln Road pedestrian mall, lasts us longer than the others - however I feel we will need more space shortly. Our intent was to continue to conduct operations activities from Atlanta, with media, branding and training to be conducted from Miami. Miami Beach makes for an ideal host city, the warmth, the sun, ease of access, and of course, the fitness culture. I am sure our team has one of the lowest collective gasoline bills of any company, by the look of the bike rack in front and rollerblades under the desks.
